About Frank

In short

Hello, I'm Frank Mogwai, Candy Chef extraordinaire. You may have seen me on Masterchef: The Professionals, series two (I really should've won, damnit!) Anyway, I developed a passion for sweets very early in life and over the years have managed to marry the flavours of my favourite candy with basically any meal. I work as a personal chef, give cooking classes and also do the occasional motivational speeches now and then. Try out some of my simple recipes. I hope you'll enjoy the candy cuisine I created and do get in touch!

The full story

I was born in Brixton, London to Tom and Lily. We are the only family of Mogwais that are insensitive to sunlight, can eat after midnight and go swimming, or take a shower whenever we like without any side effects. So naturally, we are shunned by the Mogwai community.

But my parents never let it get us down and always encouraged my siblings and I to enjoy life to the fullest and assimilate into the greater community in London.

Living next door to a candy store all my life, I developed what some might call an extreme love for sweets. When I was little, I used to go on long walks around the city to pick up pennies I found on the floor and when I'd saved enough, I'd go buy some sweets. At meal times, I would add my latest collection to whatever dish my mother cooked.

At first, my family thought I was crazy but I soon developed a skill for putting just the right amount of candy and picking the right type of sweets to complement each dish. Thus, the Candy Chef was born. I paid my way through university by being a personal chef for parties and haven't stopped doing it since.

I believe that candy should be an essential ingredient in every meal and you'll be surprised at how much nutrition you can get from sweets. I have been petitioning the NHS to make candy its own food group and I believe I am close to making that happen. You can join me in supporting that campaign by adding me on facebook or follow me on twitter.

Sincerely,
Frank Mogwai
