My name is Siobhán Ford. Born on
September 26th,1988, I have lived in Dublin my whole life. I am the
oldest of three children and have two younger brothers,Conor-15 and
Niall-12. My Mother is a primary school teacher, specialising in
learning resource in Rathfarnham and my Father works in the global
funding. In September 2001 I began my education at St. Louis High school
in Rathmines and I left earlier this year after receiving the award for
academic achievement. In early October the year group congregated once
more to attend our debs ball.I have always enjoyed school and learning
and some day hope to become a teacher, however I intend on spending the
majority of my early adult life working and travelling abroad. Currently
I am studying communications at DCU.
My greatest passions are art and travel. I spent the last two summers in the south of France where I managed to pick up the language and experience the culture that "la midi" has to offer. Since then I have had a keen interest in all things French. In early September I went to Paris, visited the Louvre and all the major sites with a group of friends. Incorporating both interests into one trip was amazing (so much so that I didn't want to come home!!). I find the architecture of Europe's main cities beautiful, ranging from gothic to modern day structures.
Since moving onto the DCU campus I find myself going to far more movies with friends in order to stay in touch with them and since film studies is a central part of my course her at college, film has begun to mean much more to me. Stemming from my interest in art, I follow fashion and design. My favourite designer would be Roberto Cavalli as I love that his creations have now become accessible to high street shoppers who expect value for their money. Fashion is very important to me and it is the easiest and funnest way to express your personality in my opinion. In terms of communication, I must admit that I have joined the "bebo generation". While some might take it too far, I find it a I have always been a big sports fan. Since starting basketball at the age of 12 I have played for several teams. In 2004 our team won the Dublin Schools Basketball League. During the winter months I take part in swimming and have recently taken up salsa dancing which is an extremely amusing way to pass a few hours on a Tuesday. Seeing as both of my brothers play club rugby I have always been interested in the sport also, although I would never be capable of playing myself! The family has a holiday home
in Dingle, Co. Kerry. When we manage to make it down we sail every
morning. The beaches along the coast are great for surfing and
body-boarding and although it has taken quite a number of years, I have
now learned to surf and spend a lot of time out in the waves.
