My name is Stephen Deane, I study contemporary culture and society in dcu. Before coming to dcu I attended St. Pauls College in Raheny and The Institute of Education on Leeson Street. Just over a year ago, I moved from Clontarf to Kilbarrack. |

My favourite football team is Manchester United, I have supported them since I was very young. They are one of the world's most famous and successful football teams. They have won 19 league titles, 11 FA cups, 2 league cups, 3 European cups and 19 other honours. Many of the best English and foreign players have played in the red jersey over the years, including; Bobby Charlton, George Best, Roy Keane, Denis Law, Ryan Giggs, Eric Cantona and Mark Hughes.
For many years I played both football and rugby. In football I played for Clontarf FC and captained my team for 2 seasons. In rugby I played on the St. Pauls junior and senior cup teams, reaching the final of the junior shield at junior level.
I am crazy about music, my favourite bands are The Beatles, The Kings Of Leon, The Rolling Stones , The Arctic Monkeys. I regularly buy albums by these, and other, artists, I go to many gigs with my friends too! I've been playing the bass for almost 5 years and am in a band with my friends, Bob, Patsy and Anne. Most weekends we play in halls and clubs and all of our friends come to see us!! My favourite music website is allmusic.com I am also very interested in cinema, photography and graphic design. My favourite films are The Godfather, The Mission, Animal House and Pulp Fiction. I have taken numerous courses on film making and film editing, I find it fascinating!
My friends are very important to me, we do everything together, from partys to going to gigs to staying in. I feel very lucky that so many of the people important to me are also studying in dcu because I know how easy it is to lose contact with people when you don't see them everyday in the same school or college. I also love going away with friends (mostly to places in the sun) during the summer, a few of us spent a few weeks together in Spain last year, it was brilliant! Here's some pictures of us...
