What happened after Freaks and Geeks and Undeclared?
After Undeclared, Jason decided to move away from comedy and try his hand at more serious television. He stared in CSI Las Vegas as Neil Jansen. It was a short lived role and I suspect that he missed the comedy world because not long after, he appeared in ‘Knocked up’ with some of the old gang from Freaks and Geeks and Undeclared. He made a hilarious performance as Jason, a charming friend that is helping Seth Rogen’s character make a porn website. Meanwhile, Jason Segel was involved in a new television show called ‘How I met your mother.’
‘How I met your mother’ (8) has been running since 2005 and is currently in its fourth season. The show itself is centred around Ted, an architect living in New York. It is a love story in reverse. Ted narrates the show, telling his children all about his past leading up to how he met their mother. The show also stars the hilarious Neil Patrick Harris and Alyson Hannigan. Jason Segel plays Marshall Eriksen, a lawyer and Ted’s best friend. Jason Segel was chosen for this role because the creators of the show Carter Bays and Craig Thomas were huge fans of Freaks and Geeks (2).
