Jason Segel’s biggest break of all came in 2008 with the Blockbuster hit ‘Forgetting Sarah Marshall.’(9) The movie was written by Jason himself, directed by Nicholas Stoller and produced by Judd Apatow, creator of Freaks and Geeks (3). Segel plays broken hearted Peter Bretter who gets dumped by his TV star girlfriend played by Kristen Bell. He decides to travel to Hawaii to forget about his depression and discovers he is staying in the same resort as her ex and her new lover played by Russell Brand. While trying to convince his ex that he did not follow her, he has a great holiday of self discovery and falls in love with someone else. Segel shows his true talent as a writer in this movie and also as a musician. He plays a songwriter in the movie but he actually wrote several of the songs themselves and plays piano as a hobby (4). There is already a sequel this movie rumoured to be in the works soon (5).
